Roadmap Mountain

How to set milestones for your projects

When starting a project or a piece of work, alignment and orientation are key. So, we developed this roadmap template to help.

Using the analogy of climbing a mountain, you can go through the steps to map out at a high level to create clarity before trekking. A visual roadmap shows all the important milestones and questions for your project.

The template helps you to consider:

  • What’s at the top of the mountain?
  • What’s the basecamp situation?
  • What are the peaks (or objectives) along the way?
  • Who is with you on the journey?
  • What do you need?
  • How will you collaborate?

It’s perfect for distributed teams, those of us working from home. Keep it high level, of course, as things change!

You can use it now on Miro as part of the Miroverse template gallery.

I thought: ‘Wow! This is so much fun!’ An online learning experience at par with a live training-room event — and I say that as a person who loves live in-person engagement.

I used this formula for a recent People Skills for Geeks online meetup. It works.
